This beauty is for sale in the parking lot of a local tire shop. I didn’t go in to ask how much, because I know I can’t afford it.
Update: FryGuy stopped by and asked. They want $19k for it. NPoCP? I say completely bonkers.
There was today much glare for a decent shot of the interior, but it looked stock and perfect.

Yes. Buy Squarebodies. Make those the desirable models.

Damn that’s a nice truck. I used to drive these a lot, and always enjoyed it- they felt comfortable, like an old shoe.
Bugs me that someone cared for this for 30+ years, and the next buyer seems to be flipping it after a few months, though.
![]() 10/20/2016 at 12:13 |

We’re moving on to Squarebodies because those are already getting more and more difficult to find cheaply.
![]() 10/20/2016 at 12:14 |

Stacked headlight Squarebody is best Squarebody.
![]() 10/20/2016 at 12:16 |

While I love the ‘67-’72 body style, the Squarebodies will always be my favorite. Since the made them for 15 years, to the six years of the previous style, I don’t see them ever being cheaper than sqaurebodies.

My dad’s first truck was an electric blue ‘79 K10. I was six when he got rid of it, and I cried.
![]() 10/20/2016 at 12:29 |

I love them all, but personally prefer the early round headlight ones, with the bulge in the grill and hood.
![]() 10/20/2016 at 12:44 |
|
Yum. Can’t make up my mind on the wheels though. Not sure if they help it or hurt it.
![]() 10/20/2016 at 12:47 |

I want too put a tonneau cover on it, then live inside it and never leave. It’s gorgeous!
![]() 10/20/2016 at 12:51 |

Neat! In college, I had a job that mostly involved shuttling cars. The company had a fleet of beaters to use as drop cars, but one was a brown 79 Scottsdale. 350, IIRC, and I loved driving it. By far the best car/truck they had.
![]() 10/20/2016 at 12:52 |

Those seem to be the ones that most people prefer, but there’s something about those stacked light ones that just gets me.
![]() 10/20/2016 at 13:15 |

They wheels are nice and all, but personally I’d rather have a nice set of steel rally wheels, with the nice chrome centers and trim rings.
![]() 10/20/2016 at 13:16 |

My dad’s was a Custom Deluxe, with a blue and white plaid bench seat. Oh, and a 4-speed on the floor!
![]() 10/20/2016 at 13:17 |
|
Funny, because I hear more people fawning over the stacked headlight versions. They’re all great though!
![]() 10/20/2016 at 13:17 |
|
It’s cleaner than most of the apartments I lived in when I was a youngin’.
![]() 10/20/2016 at 13:21 |
|
Ooh, jealous of the 4 speed! Sounds awesome!
My dad keeps talking about getting an old pickup truck for around town, running errands, etc. He lives in a small town that would be great for that, but doubt he’ll pull the trigger. He doesn’t have a garage for one thing, and his hips and back would make it hard for him to work on.
![]() 10/20/2016 at 16:07 |

should have pulled a craigslist and offered to trade them your roadmaster straight up
![]() 10/20/2016 at 16:17 |
|
It was tempting, but I actually use this shop when I need tires :)
![]() 10/20/2016 at 18:31 |
|
Beautiful truck but the wheels ruin it for me. Too shiny and not enough sidewall.
![]() 10/20/2016 at 19:19 |
|
If I could afford this truck, I’d sell the wheels and get some stock 15" steel rally wheels, with the nice chrome centers and trim rings.
![]() 10/20/2016 at 19:27 |

I had a stepside with dual tanks, the cab was a retired PG&E truck and then we got the bed and painted it grey, BFGoodrich tires and a slight lift. My did still has it in Montana I think, several vehicles up there.
![]() 10/20/2016 at 20:52 |

Sounds like an awesome truck!
![]() 10/20/2016 at 21:09 |

My high school ride, bench seat action.
![]() 10/26/2016 at 18:43 |

Asking $19,000
![]() 10/26/2016 at 18:45 |

Bat-shit-crazy-pants!
![]() 10/26/2016 at 18:52 |

The lack of taste makes you question everything else about it...
![]() 10/26/2016 at 18:54 |
|
offf...Id throw it on air ride and use it to haul around my motorcycles
![]() 10/26/2016 at 18:56 |
|
I’d put stock steel rally wheels with chrome centers on it, and drive it ... but not for $19k
![]() 10/26/2016 at 18:57 |
|
bleh, stock wheels. these look great!
![]() 10/26/2016 at 18:58 |
|
Yeah, they’re fine, but not everything needs to be messed with. This truck wants more sidewall.
![]() 10/26/2016 at 19:00 |
|
I would’ve said that 9k was CP. 19k made me do a double take.
![]() 10/26/2016 at 19:00 |
|
that looks like plenty of sidewall to me frankly. anymore and it just becomes a boat when you turn.
*turn wheel*
.
.
..
....
.......
*oh hey, NOW the front is changing direction!*
*to me anyways*
![]() 10/26/2016 at 19:02 |

I could see asking $10k ... maaaaaybe even $12k, they are exceedingly hard to find this clean here in the rust belt, but $19k is in-freaking-sane.
![]() 10/26/2016 at 19:03 |
|
It’s an old Squarebody, it’s gonna be a boat no matter what.
![]() 10/26/2016 at 19:08 |
|
not as much as you might think .
and this guy was WINNING
![]() 10/26/2016 at 19:10 |
|
With a 305?? $4k. If it was Roadkill’s Muscle Truck, maybe...
![]() 10/26/2016 at 19:13 |
|
And a 305? There is
nothing
redeeming about that truck.
![]() 10/26/2016 at 19:15 |
|
That’s beautiful but hard pass on the price (and the wheels), maybe in another 10 years.
![]() 10/26/2016 at 19:24 |
|
Agreed. It would look so much better on period correct wheels and stock ride height.
![]() 10/26/2016 at 19:31 |
|
Nothing with a 305 is worth $19k or even $9k.
![]() 10/26/2016 at 19:33 |
|
305 or not, it’s easily worth $9k.
![]() 10/26/2016 at 19:36 |
|
Chrome torq-thrusts (or similar) ruin everything.
![]() 10/26/2016 at 19:37 |
|
It’s got a mint original interior, tilt wheel, working cruise control and AC, and shiny paint. You people who live outside the rust belt are so spoiled. Besides a 350 would drop right in place.
![]() 10/26/2016 at 19:37 |
|
That’s exactly what I was thinking.
![]() 10/26/2016 at 19:39 |
|
That’s not a Squarebody. That body style has a truck-arm rear suspension that makes for a much better handling vehicle.
![]() 10/26/2016 at 19:41 |
|
A $4k Squarebody around here gets you a truck that, “Doesn’t have much rust. Just needs inner and out rockers, and a couple holes in the floor patched”
![]() 10/26/2016 at 19:42 |
|
I used to be into them, like 20 years ago, but I am beyond over them.
![]() 10/26/2016 at 19:48 |
|
close enough. old trucks can handle is my point.
![]() 10/26/2016 at 20:44 |
|
Less than that money gets you this in NC
Half that money gets you this:
that is 5 figures off of NP territory. Especially with 22" chrome Torq-Thrusts
![]() 10/26/2016 at 20:45 |
|
Mr. Bean agrees.
![]() 10/26/2016 at 20:50 |
|
Holy mother of crack.
![]() 10/26/2016 at 21:28 |
|
Yeah, I think it should be priced closer to the white one (which I’m drooling over). I could see a bit more because they’re harder to find here, but $19k is crazy.
I also don’t like the wheels. It needs the same ones that white truck has.
![]() 10/26/2016 at 21:29 |
|
Mr. Bean has excellent taste in cars.
![]() 10/26/2016 at 21:29 |
|
ALL THE CRACK!!!
![]() 10/26/2016 at 22:20 |
|
The white truck has the right wheels and a 350. The only other wheels I like on a late square body are these:
![]() 10/26/2016 at 23:35 |
|
Yep. Those are great too. They look even better on Suburbans.
![]() 10/27/2016 at 09:07 |
|
Crack Pipe, although I have seen similar asking prices for squarebodies.
![]() 10/27/2016 at 09:09 |
|
Yeah, but they won’t sell at that price. The last old car that was for sale at this shop sat there for months. I expect this truck to do the same.
![]() 10/27/2016 at 11:48 |
|
No they wont, but I’m surprised at the number of people who think their squarbody is worth that much.
![]() 10/27/2016 at 15:03 |
|
I mean, sure, it’s in decent shape, but the vehicle itself is a turd.
![]() 10/27/2016 at 15:04 |
|
Ew.
![]() 10/27/2016 at 15:38 |
|
How is this a turd? Yeah, it’s beige and it has a 305, but this thing is freakin’ sweet!
It’s about half as sweet as the asking price tough, I’d say.
![]() 10/27/2016 at 15:39 |

Honestly, I was looking at some on CL last night, I was optimistic about what $4k will get you in a Squarebody.
